I wake up, go to hug Leia (our Border Collie, 3yo), and Spocky (our Yorkie, 10yo) goes crazy, bites her, and Leia picks him up by the scruff before I can separate them. Chaos, Spocky screaming but nothing happened (this is them 2min later) At least Im awake now !

My fourth entry in is for subject isolation and contrast. This one was a little harder to find good subjects as part of my daily routine.
The other evening I was taking pictures of dinner prep for a possible recipe post that I havent yet gotten around to. With our stainless steel mixing bowls subjects can pop in an interesting way. Unfortunately a lot of our cooking turns out kinda beige, but not for purple sweet potatoes!
!I would be remiss if I did not include our dog Pike in this challenge. I have many many many pictures of his black and brown coat contrasting with our blue-green couch. Heres one now! This was taken right after he got groomed on Sunday.
Little GentlemanIm happy with how the depth in this shot turned out with our neighbors budding Japanese maple outside the window. Apparently its not good enough as my iPhone offered to convert this to , something I never use. You can see how the faukeh is better now at his hairy ears but still brings the tip of his snout out of focus.
MehFinally here is a shot taken in a specific place that immediately popped into mind as somewhere Id want to capture when reading Hiros description of contrast:
It could be very visual by putting a brightly lit subject against a dark background, or color based by contrasting a bright red rose against green foliage, or even conceptual with something like capturing someone who is clearly quite happy on a bus surrounded by dour fellow passengers.
At work, just past the security turnstiles in the newer , is a vestibule of Amazon Orange () furniture and decor that is perfect for colorful photo opportunities. For contrast I placed my on the couch.

We took on an emergency rescue in mid-December. He was a 23 pound (10.5 kg) American pit bull, though we thought he was part boxer at the time. About a year old. He was critically underweight. He very likely would have died within 24 hours.
Today we weighed him at the vet, and he's a 42-pound vigorous, healthy boy.
It's been a hell of a thing to watch and be a part of.
