When my then boyfriend's parents died shortly after each other, we got their two dogs. One got ill with cancer shortly after, so we just had one left. My parents had a Dachshund, who loved our American Stafford (and bise versa!). They were such a sweet pair.
Gina (the white Staffie) was often badly judged on her looks. Which was very sad, as she was the sweetest cuddle big there was!
Here she is relaxing with Brutus, my parents Dachshund.

My gal is overweight--so I had to implement a 950-calorie vet-mandated diet.

This week's menu includes Dr. Murphy's canine diet base mix, a small boiled egg, sweet potato wedge, 2.5 oz butcher meat protein, supplements, and salmon oil. Everything is weighed and measured...her freezer treat is 1 oz of chopped liver mixed with organic yogurt and 3-ingredient homemade Instant Pot applesauce.

She still receives a tiny amount of kibble to catch or roll around in her kong ball :)

I'm thinking that I am going to start writing a fun-filled cookbook...
